Example itinerary

Private guiding is available in a range of locations for anyone wanting to walk, hike, climb or ski in the United Kingdom and the European Alps. Get in touch with your ideas and we will aim to make your dream trip come true.

Examples of previous private mountain guiding experiences include:

  • One day of 1:1 guided winter ice climbing at grade V on Ben Nevis (e.g. Point 5 Gully or Orion Direct).
  • Five days of 1:2 guided trad climbing upto E3 in Torridon (e.g. The Pillar, The Torridonian, Angel Face etc).
  • Two days of 1:2 guided scrambling in the Ogwen Valley. 
  • One day of 1:1 guided winter climbing on Tower Ridge, Ben Nevis.
  • Two days of 1:2 learning to lead trad climbs in Snowdonia.
  • Five days of 1:2 Swiss 4000ers (e.g. Weissmies, Lagginhorn, Breithorn).
  • Two days of 1:1 summer mountaineering on the Black and Red Cuillin, Isle of Skye (e.g. Clach Glas-Blaven traverse or the Coire lagan horseshoe route).
  • Two days of 1:4 winter skills in the Cairngorms.

    Could not recommend Jack at inspired guides enough, spent three days in the cullin hills on The Isle of Skye with Jack and had the most amazing time filled with highly informative and educational experiences. Jack knows his trade beyond any other and taught us skills we will never forget such as lots to do with scrambling due to the nature of the Cullin. If you’re looking for a action packed and exhilarating day in the mountains look no further than inspired guides ! Definitely be booking a another trip soon !!

    Fantastic couple of days with Jack! We took a tour of some of North Wales Classic routes and spent a morning practicing skills for my upcoming assessment. Couldn't have been better!

    Enjoyed a great day climbing with Jack and my son James recently. Jack managed to balance my very limited skills on outdoor rock with James's greater experience and ensured that we both developed our techniques as individuals. It was great fun with Jack making the whole experience a memorable day. If I didn't live 500 miles away from where Jack works I would be on the rock every week. If you want a fun filled day climbing, scrambling or just enjoying the great outdoors Jack's your man.

    Just back from a fantastic week with Jack, attempting the Scottish sea stack trilogy. Although the weather got the better of us for one of them, it was an amazing experience, just as much remote road trip as climbing trip, although we got plenty of routes done. Jack’s planning and hospitality was first rate, he was great, engaging company and in climbing the Old Man of Hoy he made sure I had one of my top three days out ever. Can’t recommend him highly enough, and if you’re looking for a bit of adventure to go with your climbing this is the trip to do with him.
