Sea Stack Trilogy- The ultimate Scottish adventure! This 6 day trip takes you on a journey around the Northern, Western and Eastern coast of Scotland climbing the three classic sea stacks: The Old Man of Hoy - E1 / Am Buachaille- VS / The Old Man of Stoer- VS. This trip involves some fantastic climbing, beautiful coastal sceneries and plenty of potential wildlife sightings whilst travelling along some of the North Coast 500 route and stopping at the remote Orkney Islands. DAY 1

Pick up from Inverness (airport/train station). Drive to Ardmair and enjoy an afternoon/evening cragging. Camp near Ardmair.

DAY 2

Drive to Stoer and climb the Old Man of Stoer. Drive to Sheigra and camp.

DAY 3

Climb Am Buachaille and head back to the camping at Sheigra.

DAY 4

Morning climb at Sheigra or one of the fantastic surrounding cliff. Drive to Thurso and catch the ferry to Stromness. Either camp in Stromness or take ferry to Hoy and spend the night in the bothy.

DAY 5

Climb the Old Man of Hoy. Travel back to Stromness or the mainland.

DAY 6

Drive back to Inverness. If your arms can handle anymore climbing we may have time to climb one of the brilliant sea cliffs on the North East coast.

This is a rough itinerary, all plans are affected by weather, tides, etc. Accommodation is suited to budget. There are alternative options to stay in hostels, hotels and Air BnBs if desired.

Who is the course for?

Climbers who can confidently second HVS. Most of the climbing is on the trip is VS with the odd harder pitch. If you are more experienced there is an option to follow harder routes at each sea stack.
