Our Independent Alpine Preparation course is designed for any aspiring alpinist to understand what it takes to pursue mountaineering objectives such as the Gran Paradiso, Mont Blanc an the Monch without a guide. The aim of this course is to cover as much ground as possible to give you the best idea of the challenges you will face and skills required to summit these alpine giants.
What you will learn:
- Alpine ropework systems for glacier travel, snowslopes and alpine ridges
- Crevasse rescue techniques
- Moving up and down scrambling/easy rock climbing ground efficiently
- Abseiling
- Movement skills in big boots
- Looking after yourself in the mountains (staying warm, hydrated etc)

Jack is a Trainee British Mountain Guide (IFMGA) and Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor. As an avid climber, he wants to share his passion and inspire everyone he guides in the mountains. He thrives to provide a safe, adventurous and educational day for all of his clients.
Who is the course for:
Aspiring alpinists who have previous experience scrambling and climbing in the United Kingdom. A good level of cardio is required as we will cover a lot of ground and technical terrain.
